About Supported Accommodation
Project (SAP)

SAP is an abstinence-based community rehabilitation project designed to assist clients to overcome dependency/addiction issues. To do this we provide furnished accommodation in a number of Local Authority and Housing Association areas.

What we do:

We provide professional support to clients and help enable positive change. We promote independent living within the community.

Once a client moves to SAP, we work on a structured rehabilitation programme with one-to-one support with regards to housing, health and social skills.

We also liaise with other agencies and assist clients in accessing services and maintaining stability.

How we work with clients

We assist clients to work towards securing their own tenancy and live independently. We promote self reliance by:

• Assisting clients to access services
• Helping clients to develop relapse prevention skills
• Building on existing skills
• Working with clients to develop new skills and maintain stability
• Promoting independence
• Providing a positive stepping stone to a tenancy in the community

About Floating Support

Floating support is designed to assist clients to sustain their current tenancy agreements.

What we do

Our workers visit at home to assist with basic social and home-making skills. We offer individual support to help the client deal with addiction and life problems. We also liaise with other agencies and assist clients in accessing services to help maintain their tenancy.

How we work with clients

We offer:

• Social skills training
• introduction to community resources
• budgeting
• home-making skills
• Door security and neighbour relations assistance
• Criteria as per funding allows, plus additional assistance from other services as part of a wider care package

Who is Floating Support for?

If you or someone you know is struggling to keep their tenancy due to alcohol, gambling and/or drug misuse issues or feel that you are vulnerable in some other way; we may be able to help.

Who is eligible?

• Client is a Council tenant of either Renfrewshire or East Renfrewshire Council
• Being in receipt of Housing Benefit
• Needing assistance to keep their own home
