Dr Alex Crawford — CEO
Alex, who is a psychologist, is responsible for the overall management of RCA Trust. His current research interests are alcohol and facial injury (in conjunction with Glasgow Dental Hospital) and alcohol and gambling. Through his involvement with the Knowledge Transfer Partnership, he is interested in developing business systems as applied to the voluntary sector and also considering issues involved in measuring social return on investment (SROI).

John Mungall – Chairperson
John spent 30 years in the NHS in various posts in Scotland and the North of England and worked for NHS Argyll and Clyde for 17 years as a senior manager in the Planning and Performance Directorate. After early retirement he led the merger of 4 Councils on Alcohol and Drugs in Argyll and Bute, a project hosted by Alcohol Focus Scotland, and now acts as part time planning manager to Encompass Counselling and Support.
He has been a member of RCA Trust’s Executive Committee since 1989, becoming Chairman in 2001.

Maura Lynch – Vice Chairperson
Maura has recently started working with the Scottish Consortium for Learning Disabilities as the National Employment Co-ordinator. She has the responsibility for mapping out the services available to people with learning disabilities working with both public and private sector employees.
Maura has worked extensively over the years with the NHS in Scotland and is currently a member of the Pharmacy Practices Committee of Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board.
She has extensive experience in working within local economic development both as a consultant and a senior manager.

Hamish McMillan – Treasurer
Hamish graduated from Strathclyde University in 1978 with a BA in Accounting and Finance and became a Chartered Accountant in 1982. Since then Hamish has had a number of job titles including Auditing Manager as well as being a Partner with Downie Wilson CA from 1991-1996 and with Scott-Moncrieff from 1996-2008, Hamish also started his own CA firm in 2008.
Hamish's specialist fields include charities, licensed premises, construction and property, professional practices and lingerie retail and wholesale.
Outside work Hamish is interested in football and golf and enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children.

Jim Kerr
Jim first became involved with RCA in 1986 which was then known as Renfrew Council on Alcohol. As a professional in the human resources field Jim assisted the director of RCA in the development of industrial alcohol policies for marketing to companies in the Renfrewshire area. At the same time Jim was also involved in other initiatives relating to alcohol and employment. Jim was then invited to join the executive committee in 1995.
As the organisation expanded, and broadened its activities, and staff numbers increased Jim assisted in the development of Personnel policies to meet the needs of the new structure.
Jim is now retired but is still actively involved with RCA Trust’s executive committee. At the present time his specialist role is to provide support when required to the human resource staff within the organisation.

Douglas Hope
I have been in this type of work for over forty years, having started off as Probation and After care Officer in Paisley before moving to a similar position in West Yorkshire for a few years. I came back to Scotland to take up a position as Reporter to the Children’s Hearings in Renfrewshire and remained in that position until taking early retirement some 8/9 years ago. Kibble School asked me to become involved in a new project called “ Men Can Care “I am still at Kibble involved in Kibble Works which is a Social Enterprise. I have been involved with RCA for over twenty years.

Gerry Boyle
Gerry Boyle has worked as a management development consultant and facilitator for over fifteen years. The last five of these have been as an independent consultant with particular interests in performance and life coaching.
He has a Masters in HR Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development as well as being an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with a post graduate diploma in Counselling and Supervision and is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Gerry has extensive experience of working in areas such as organisational development, leadership, managerial styles, organisational climate, leadership competencies, change management and coaching.
He has also lectured on several undergraduate and post graduate programmes in the UK.
Prior to joining RCA Trust’s executive committee Gerry was Chair of Inverclyde counselling service which merged with RCA Trust in 2005.
In his spare time Gerry likes to go hill walking, and enjoys visiting the cinema, reading, travelling and cooking.

Laura Galbraith
Laura Galbraith became involved with RCA through her interest in Problem Gambling and her association with the Responsibility in Gambling Trust. During this period she made contacts with a number of key individuals with interest in problem gambling in Scotland and beyond at Government level, in treatment and academia.
Her professional background is in Clinical Psychology, educated first at Edinburgh University and then obtaining her clinical qualification in Plymouth and Bristol.
Laura has held senior positions in both the public and private sectors. She was Head of Child Psychology in Fife for 7 years. Following this she became Operational and Clinical Director for ICAS, the leading provider of Employee Assistance Programmes and trauma services in the UK and internationally. She took a key role in the successful sale of ICAS to AXA-PPP, following which she decided to establish her own limited company in the area of people and organisational development. Her experience in psychological consultancy has been in a number of public and private sectors including financial institutions, education, housing and health.
Most recently she has been appointed as CEO to Columba 1400 and looks forward to a strong, exciting and productive relationship with RCA as a member of the Board.
